2006 AMMS Reunion

The Airborne Missile Maintenance Squadron (AMMS) Reunion 2006 began on Monday April 24th and concluded on Thursday April 27th. From all impressions, all attendees had a wonderful time. It started out with a reception for the attendees at the Boomtown Casino Hotel in Bossier City, LA, with coffee, tea and snacks in the reception room with a hospitality room with beverages and snacks following. =0D =0D On Tuesday we held a picnic, with 74 people attending. The picnic menu included: Barbeque Brisket, Smoked Sausage, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Cold Slaw, Rolls and Beverages. The picnic started out a little shaky with a thunderstorm passing through, however; it passed through fast and the sun came out allowing us to enjoy the festivities, although it was a little on the cool side. =0D =0D An election of new officers was conducted following the picnic. The following were elected: President: Tom Hudson, Vice President: Bob Balient, Secretary/Treasurer: Jack McGaunn. Warner Robins, GA was selected as the 2008 reunion site with Reunion ChairPersons: Colin McDonald and Carl Tischer. Jack McGaunn (Secretary/Treasurer) briefed the attendees about the corporation that had been established in Florida. He informed the attendees that if they wanted to continue the corporation that he had the paper work, which must be submitted for renewal. A motion was made and attendees voted not to renew. =0D =0D Wednesday morning, those desiring to play, enjoyed a round of golf. A dinner, with an Icebreaker commencing at 6 PM, was enjoyed at the Officers Club, with 81 enjoying the dinner. The dinner was opened with posting of the colors and prayer. Following a few remarks by our ChairPersons, Buck Leach and Jack McGaunn, our guest speaker Colonel Steve dePyssler was introduced and gave a great speech on attendees=E2=80=99 patriotism. Following the meal a drawing was conducted for numerous prizes.=0D =0D Thursday, a breakfast was enjoyed by numerous attendees at the casino dining room. The breakfast was provided by fellow missileer Tom Milam. Following the breakfast our attendees began departing.=0D =0D Again it appeared that all attendees enjoyed the event and are looking forward to 2008 and visiting Warner Robins, GA.
