Birth of the Snoopy Patch

A special thank you to Michael Chandler, who provided us with a copy of his letter from Charles Schultz  authorizing the use of Snoopy.   Michael turned this letter over to Major Henry Payne, OIC of the Maintenance Anaylysis Unit.   He in turn contacted the 379th AMMS Commander and the 379th AMMS Snoopy patch was born.

This is a decal that I first created and had made up.  I sold these at .50 ea. and were quite popular.  Air Force informed me that to use the Heraldic shield in my design was a no-no so did a re-do for the squadron. I don't know who did the drawing/rendering on your site but this is the real original. The second item I am sending is the re-draw for the Squadron (6th AMMS)........Drawing coutesy of John (Jack) Gruer.
